DESCRIPTION:Gertrude Steinand A Companion \nby Win Wells \nA Staged Reading directed by Patricia Duff with Martha Murphy and Duff in the roles. \nOutCast is pleased to welcome this gem of a play back to the Black Box stage. “Gertrude Stein and A Companion” was previously produced in OCP’s first full season in 2012. This staged reading will feature the original cast. \nThe play begins just after the death of Gertrude Stein. Her ghost returns to reveal her relationship with Alice B. Toklas and traces the extraordinary relationship between Stein\, experimental author and collector of art and artists\, and her lifelong friend\, who remained devoted to her memory and the life they shared. It moves back and forth in time as the actors play not only Gertrude and Alice but a host of famous people who were part of their lives\, including Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Picasso.
