SUMMARY:Whidbey Western Games Association - WWGA
DESCRIPTION:Whidbey Western Games Association is a non profit group which began when a group of riders wanted local game shows in which people of all ages could participate in. This group formed so that family and friends could compete and have fun at the same time.\n\n\n\nThe club holds shows consisting of Patterned Horse Racing. We run many different events including Pole Bending and Barrel Racing in which the rider is racing against the clock.\n\n\nSince 1995 the club has grown in numerous ways and has continued to provide a friendly and family sport for people and their horses.\n\n\n\nLocated on Whidbey Island\, WWGA holds their events in a beautiful location near the Langley waterfront\, the Island County Fairgrounds Arena. The season starts in March or April with the first show of eight in which riders compete in their age group to collect points at each show. In October\, prizes are awarded at an awards banquet after all show totals are calculated.\n\n\n\nThe club also hosts an O-Mok-See in August. Competitors from all over the western states come and compete for a weekend for great prizes. Our club encourages riders of all ages and riding abilities to come and join us!

SUMMARY:THIS COULD BE PARADISE - A New Works Project Staged Reading
DESCRIPTION:JUNE 28 + 29 \nTHIS COULD BE PARADISE \nA New Works Project Staged Reading \n\nby Sara Jo Breslow \nDirected by Patricia Duff \nThe Skagit River Valley of northwest Washington State is home to some of the last best salmon runs in the lower forty-eight\, and some of the richest farmland in the world. But trying to save both fish and farms in a time of rapid social and environmental change has plunged local communities into decades of disputes. Based on real interview excerpts\, This Could Be Paradise imagines the drama that might unfold when the voices of Native Americans\, farmers\, and environmentalists—and the anthropologist trying to understand them—are brought into unexpected conversation as they struggle to protect their shared valley.

SUMMARY:The Caretaker
DESCRIPTION:The Caretaker \nWritten by Harold Pinter \nDirected by Dan Christiaens and Robert Sindelar \n \nAston asks down-and-out Davies to be a live-in caretaker. Davies leaps at the chance to change his fortunes\, but the trouble is he doesn’t know what a caretaker should do\, especially in a room filled with junk. When Aston’s manipulative brother Mick shows up\, the power struggle begins. Why does Aston collect all this stuff? Will Davies ever get a pair of decent shoes? And who will fix the drip in the ceiling? A play about the fragile balance of trust and betrayal in family relationships takes place in a single room of a house and explores themes of loneliness\, isolation\, and the absurdity of modern society. \n  \n  \n
